Love Actually?

I see it all around me! People professing to be in Love! ha!

Call me a cynic but I don't believe even one knows what it is to be in love. This is not to say that I know better, on the contrary, I might have made the biggest mistakes when it comes to the language of love.

A friend once told me that I remind her of "Gigi" from the movie "He's Just not that into you" and when I saw the movie I agreed!

I'm a Hopeless romantic. Well maybe I'm a psychotic hopeless romantic to be exact.

I see relationships and men with "rose tinted glasses" and I'm proved wrong with each relationship .

There is no such thing as love anymore.. whats left is selfish ,cynical lust laden world where all people want is instant gratification . So what If they have to utter "love" to get it.

You might think I'm a woman scorned and you will think right!

But besides my own failures at relationships I have only seen ONE successful marriage- The kinds that make me jealous and envious . The "Wish I had that" kind of feeling.

One! One! One!

All the others i have seen disintegrate including my own parents!

This doesn't mean I don't believe in "love". I do.

I Just don't believe in the "Man-woman" love at all. Its all bullshit created to give women that warm "fuzzy" feeling.

Most People I know get married because they are horribly infatuated and are not really ready to accept the man or woman in their life as they are.

Here is one honest fact- I Have NEVER got a Valentines day card or gift or date or even a kiss.

Even Men are not safe?

I was shocked to read an article in the newspaper recently- A Man Gang raped by 7 men and killed.

My first thought was- What is this world coming to ?

Then I though that so far Parents would protect their daughters from rapists,harassment by ensuring that they don't go out alone, stay out after dark and always tell them their location before leaving with friends.

Now after this parents will have to do the same with their Sons.

No one is safe anymore from anything.Crime was at one time gender related and now it doesn't matter.

I would have thought that with India turning a little more liberal and modern ,people are not repressed anymore to commit such crimes however I am proved wrong.

India is not Modern nor is it going in the right direction.

We are still a repressed country. We don't believe in letting anyone express themselves openly because that's not what "Society " dictates.

At one side we have Metros, and big cities,apartment lifestyle, nuclear families, divorce, Stressful lifestyles, 14 hr work days etc and on the other villages,small towns still steeped in superstition and in a time warp.

When someone moves from a small town to a metro the culture shock is immense. Someone used to small town thinking moves to a metro is shocked at the lifestyle.

Women wear short revealing clothes, Drink and Smoke .

Men are with these women in pubs or men with men.

This is something they cannot digest and in some cases can lead to inner conflicts .

Many of these crimes are actually a product of this conflict of old belief and there is no solution unless everyone moves to a better thought process,a more practical approach to maintaing cultural values with changing times.

Mayawati demands Rs 27 crore for new statues

"Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Monday demanded for a budget of Rs 27 crore for statues at the Kashiram memorial and for other structures in the state. Presenting the supplementary budget, she demanded for an additional Rs 550 crore for her dream projects, which includes Rs 27 crore for new statues. Rs 1,500 crore has already been spent on several structures, including on her own statues.Earlier, a two Judge bench of the Supreme Court, comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice P Sathasivam, had refused to stop the installation of statues of Mayawati and other Dalit leaders in Noida. The apex court bench said, the process has been approved by the state cabinet, the court can''t intervene, till reports of misappropriation are brought into focus. Environmentalists are opposing the installation of statues of Mayawati, her political mentor Kanshi Ram and Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar on the Yamuna Riverbed near Sector 15A of Noida, alleging that the installation violates green laws. Opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh alleged that the government is spending around Rs 2,000 crore for installing these statues across the state"

Ofcourse our Judiciary cannot really go agaist the Politicians! The fact that our Judiciary and law has less powers than the Legislative is enough for corrupt politicians to exploit it.

Rs 550 crore can be used to improve Road conditions, have street lights ,Pay the Munciplaity to clean up the city,Install Waste Recycle Plants for the city, Improve City's Drainage and even Sweage treatment before releasing it to the River .We could have treated Soft water in cities or build more economical houses for people, Slum rehabilitation, improve conditions of Rural areas. work on improving the electricity supply and also on research to save leakage of electricity as they are transmitted via obsolete and bad wiring system.

There are so many "Dream" projects for India which can improve the Quality of the Air we breathe in or the water we drink or the roads we drive on.

We could have all road side areas turned into green Patches to avoid Dust and beautify.

However No!

Mayawati wants to spend it on building her statues and installing them all over U.P.

If she Looked like a Giselle Bundchen or any of the Victorias secret Angels I would still say One Statue is MORE than enough.

Our Political system is like a Damp,Dark Place where maggots(like Mayawati) and critters thrive.

Ever Since the Delhi High Court have ammended Section 377 the so called "Religious" leaders of our country have pledged to Revolt against this change.

In Amritsar the Akal Takht believe that Homosexuality is against their religion. Where is it written in Geeta,Quran,Bible or The Guru Granth Sahib that God only wants Straight(heterosexual) people and is anti Homosexuality?

God created both so how can these so called leaders be the upholders of God's law? Do they even know that God;s law is? Do they Know God?

No they dont.

Homosexuals or not ever Human being has a right and these people are trying to take away the fundamental rights of Indian people and we as Indians will stand back and let them?

I say NO to such people and have no respect since they show none for Humanity.

Baba Ramdev himself is ridiculing Gays? he feels Gays and Homosexuals are Mentally unstable people and should be put into institutions or asked to be Priests and take the vow of bachelorhood and celibacy?

This is the Baba Ramdev everyone respects and each day on Astha and Sanskar channel his teachings on yoga are shown? These are the kind of people we look up to?

Manmohan Singh is Sworn in and Congress is once again leading our nation.

I am sure theere are celebrations all over India however let me share the small celebration which took place in Pune.

Today while in M.G Road I noticed that all Punjabi(Sikh Sardars) were stopping traffic.

Taking a closer look saw that they all had boxes of sweets and distributing to all and everyone.

Beggars,People walking on streets, people on bikes in cars or rickshaws -everyone got sweets.

It was very nice to see such fervour and obviously all Sikhs were singing "Sing is King".

I am Happy that Congress in in power and even more happy that inept people like Mayawati,Advani,those folks down in south who are nothing but trouble ,Amma(Jayalalitha),Mulayam Singh Yadav, and the rest of the criminal lot are not in power.

I am slo happy that Prabhakaran is dead, and what an auspicious day for him to die. He killed Rajiv Gandhi on 22 May in the 1990's and he was killed on 18 May 2009.

Justice long delayed but still some justice for tuch fanatics who dont care about killing people as they feel they are God's to decide right from wrong and feel their act is for the "greater good".

Doesnt all evil start with the same thought? "Greater good".

Anyway.. Hope India truely shines going forward and I really wish to see Rahul Gandhi as PM one day.

We have had India Shining; Resurgent India; and India Incredible. And we were the "I" in the greatest growth story in economic history that this generation was all set to witness. India is the world’s largest democracy and the "I" within the "BRIC" area that comprised of Brazil, Russia, India, and China.
But that was when semi-nude women graced the front pages of the financial newspapers. And the now-naked CEOs and financial geniuses flashed their power and wealth on the TV channels. And the leaders of India went around the world staking their rightful claim in the New World Order.
But this is now. Welcome to the New India, where a billion heart beats are beating so faintly that the patient is reported as dead on arrival by a confused media.
The living wimpBut India is not dead. It is Wimping. (Truthfully, there is no word like "wimping" but we are unique, and we always need to be treated differently. So let’s make up a word for our behaviour.) India is alive but with serious problems. For all its largeness and all its greatness, we are ruled by wimps and cowards.
After we had the terrorist attacks on Bombay, India thumped the table demanding more action from Pakistan - or else. We are still waiting for that "or else". Meanwhile, the people of Bombay (and India) continue to give their bribes and weaken the rule of law. We are too scared to change the system in which we operate. The "or else" would entail not only a military strike against terrorist camps but also a strike against corruption. And many powerful businesses rely on corruption to fatten their pockets.
In Mangalore, carriers of the Hindutva flag beat up women sitting in a pub. That may be action - but it is the action of a frustrated wimp. Unable to rationalise and explain their irrational stance on why women cannot drink but men can, the hooligans used their fists. The Hindutva brigade needs to cleanse a lot of history books if they don’t believe in the power of women to make choices.
Meanwhile, the policy makers talk about "bold" steps and forceful action to kick-start the economy. And they give us a stimulus package -and top it with another to show how serious they are. How serious? The US rescue package is 7% of their GDP - our stimulus package is 1% of GDP. China had announced its rescue package of 9% of its GDP. In fact the Indian package is the equivalent of pitting a new born baby to push over a 250 kilo sumo wrestler. You won’t even get a tickle.
It has been 7 weeks since Raju’s confession letter and 10 weeks since the aborted merger of Maytas and, for all the investigating agencies investigating, Satyam remains an enigma. No one is answering the obvious question: which politicians were involved in transactions with the family? And which company listed on the Indian stock exchanges could be a larger scam? In private, employees of Satyam can tell you names of politicians close to the Raju family. The investigating agencies seem lost. And why should they be eager? Their bosses may be cautioning them against getting too close to the truth. Because behind that will be the rotten smell of corruption.

The most recent wagging finger came when the H-1 visa program was under threat from the Obama rescue package. Companies availing of the US government money cannot hire H-1 visa holders. That is discrimination, said the Indian government, we will fight it. (It is another matter that we have our own discrimination in India: seats are reserved for students based on caste, creed, and religion. If you take any government money for education, you need to follow the government guidelines on how you select your students.) But we object to this H-1 visa restriction said the government. Fingers will wag; tongues will get their daily exercise. But, nothing will come of it. The US will do what it wants, and we will be left with some "or else" hanging around our necks.
UBS blows a holeSo if the Indian wimp really wants to flex its muscles, here is another opportunity. The US government had filed a criminal charge against Swiss banking giant UBS and got UBS to disclose the names of 250 wealthy individuals charged with committing tax fraud in the USA. In addition, the US imposed a USD 780 million fine against UBS. That was on Wednesday, February 18th. One day later the US promptly filed a civil suit against UBS asking for 52,000 names allegedly with USD 14.8 billion of undeclared cash.
The Swiss are upset. The banking secrecy laws are a national treasure. And UBS has blown a hole by succumbing to pressure from the US. Over the next few days the Germans, Italians, and French are all expected to stand in line to get their lists. The Germans have already been fighting with the Swiss banks to confirm names they have bought from an ex-employee in the software division of a bank. The US win will strengthen their hand.
So where is the Indian request for a list of bank accounts held illegally in UBS by Indians living in India? Will the Indian strong man stand up and get results? Or will the Indian Wimp wave his finger and wag his tongue -and do nothing?

My bet is on the Indian Wimp. We have seen how the P-Note money has been treated with velvet gloves. There are brokers and investors who have forced the government into accepting money from unknown sources. This banking list is probably more dangerous because politicians and friends of politicians across party lines have some money stashed in illegal Swiss bank accounts.
Send this simple request to your local MP: "Please raise the question in Parliament to support a motion that the Indian government must get a list of all bank accounts held by Indian passport holders. And if the Swiss government does not agree, then close down all operations of the Swiss banks and brokers in India."

On Monday, Mr Barack Obama indicated that he viewed his election as the culmination of what Dr King lived, and died, for. "Tomorrow, we will come together as one people on the same Mall where Dr King's dream echoes still."

His was an outstanding election, where the entire nation voted for him.

The Expectations from him are very high for the American people and for the Indian government, though, Indian Government is slightly wary.

I do hope Indians find their leader too , they way Americans found Obama.

Watching on the news the breaking story of how some villagers beat to death a poor hungry weak Cheetah.

The cameraperson capturing this didn’t flinch watching the brutal murder of an innocent animal.Our Wild Life is in Danger of extinction and we don’t have proper Laws and reinforcements to protect the poor animals.

The Great Bengal Tiger might just become something we read about like the Dinosaurs. Only Fossils and Bony remains.

Why don’t we in India have Laws which protect Animals from Cruelty?
Why don’t we have the RSPCA?
Why is it that our People get away ill-treating their pets and animals and they can’t be fined or put behind bars?
Don’t Animals feel? They do. The feel pain just like Humans

Maneka Gandhi is all for Animal rights but even the Blue Cross is useless as an NGO.I had the misfortune of dealing with Blue Cross when I tried to pick up a one month old stray puppy and to get it treated and rehabilitated

The Answer we get?How may such puppies can we keep? We aren’t a charity, we don’t have Funds nor do we have space.

We were ready to pay for them keeping the pup as long as they were able to find it a home. But even that was not guaranteed.Plus the facility was dilapidated with no medical aids and amenities.

Why is the Government not working towards protecting animals?
We need Forest Rangers and proper (Cemented) boundaries of protected wild life sanctuaries.

We need Wild Life rehab centers.

Our Zoo's need to be more than just a cage for displaying animals. They need to be protectors.

Look at China and the work they are doing to ensure the Great Panda doesn’t get extinct.We need to act now.

The Ecological balance is very sensitive and we are damaging more than we know.

Stop de-forestation and unchecked construction which aim at demolition of forest land.

At one time I could see a Vulture near a certain part in my home town. Its Now over 10 years that I haven’t seen a single Vulture.

I could hear the parrots flying back to their nests at dusk and look up in the sky and see huge formations of birds flying.I don’t see that anymore.

At one point I could see a clear sky. Now I see smog.

I just Wish i had the money Like LN Mittal or RatanTata or Anand Mahindra or The Ambani's I would have planned a proper Animal Hospital or something like Battersea Dogs & Cats Home(London)

If I get their backing I would love to fight for mother nature.Put money into saving the environment.

I was born and brought up in U.P( Uttar Pradesh).

recently in the news is the information of the chief minister of U.P whose party member killed a govt. engineer because he refused to pay "bribe" for the chief Minister's Birthday.

There were 32 wound marks on his body and was tortured to death while his wife and child were locked up.

Well nothing new.....

Mayawati(Chief minister) was and has been one corrupt political prostitute!( my apologies for the strong words).

My family was involved in a business in Lucknow( capital of U.P) and she has illegally taken over our own land there to build Mr Ambedkar's statue in the central place of Lucknow.

We have given up on Lucknow because of people who are low grade illiterate criminals/prostitutes like her.( PS we used to be her neighbour too).

she took over a lot of properties illegally in U.P.

Well still she can get away with murder and extortion since she is the Chief Minister!

yet each year she gets voted! why? well obviously she pays the villagers who don't know just how criminal she is.

she gets her votes illegally and through brute force!

Mr Brown's Report also states that 3/4ths of Terror attacks link to Al Queda in Pakistan.

On the other hand ,Kalam writing to Pakistan High Commisioner for Legal representation!

Yet It seems Mr Zardari feels that all these are just " investigations" and not conclusive.

BBC managed to do what our own media didnt.. Track down Kasab's Faridkot links and proove without doubt that he is a Citizen of Pakistan .

For over many decades India has always had proof and evidence of Involvement of Pakistani's Citizens who had been involved in Terrorist activities under the very nose of their Government( who still denies it all and maintains they are non state members).

A fellow Blogger from Pakistan Riaz Haq feels that we might culminate into a Lebanon-Isreal situation which will lead to Nuclear Conflagration in the South Asia.

START's Terrorist Organization Profiles (TOPs) collection includes information on 56 groups known to have engaged in terrorism in India. Included among these groups is Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), known to have undertaken attacks in Mumbai in recent years.

I do wish to vote but I cant seem to like the Pajama clad, Paan spitting, criminals we have in our political system.

Correct me if I am wrong, Raj... but I consider myself an assal
Marathi manoos. Born in Maharashtra to Maharashtrian parents etc.
Proud to be Marathi (even though my language skills in my mother
tongue are embarrassingly dodgy). I don't know how to make the
perfect puran poli but I do love aamti..

This is clearly not enough anymore. Going by the checklist, I could
be disqualified on several scores. I am married to a Bong, who has
lived and worked in Mumbai for over 30 years (but alas, has not been
appointed ambassador to the state of West Bengal yet!). He attends
Durga Puja regularly and prefers maacher jhol to vangi bhaat.

Fortunately, we don't have a daughter-in-law to name a college after,
either in Kolkata or Mumbai.... And our children (like yours) did not
attend Marathi-medium schools.. We employ people based on their
competence, not caste or region. And I have never asked the vegetable
vendor, breadwalla, taxi driver, dhobi, sweeper, elevator attendant,
security guard, pizza delivery boy or any of the other people who
make my life easier, which part of India they come from.

This is Mumbai, meri jaan! Who cares where anyone comes from? Dhanda
is all that matters.. Mumbai is India 's most powerful magnet. Once
you get here, you never leave. Don't believe me? Ask those innocent
bhajjiwallas and doodhwallas who were beaten up and stoned by your

The MNS( Maharashtra navnirman sena) chief Raj Thackeray need to be put behind bars for being an Anti-Indian.

Why do we tolerate such Hooligans? why do we allow such terrorists( for they are just like a terrorist ) exist?

Why is it that the police , law and the politicians do nothing?

I am a proud Indian and I believe India is a secular country which embraces all races, cast, creed and religion.

Hindi is out National language and anyone insulting it, should be made to do 1 year of public serivice.. In this Case Raj T should be made to clean Public Loo's "sulabh shauchalaya" espeically in North of India and also fined 1 crore for being an Anti -Indian Instigator.

Why does he wear Kurta -Pajama north Indian style? Why does his wife wear churidaar which is a Mughal influenced garment of the north?His own Son learns German instead of Marathi in school. A Leader leads by Example and so far he has been nothing but a poor ,stupid one.

Why do they watch Bollywood movies?

Legalize Live-In relationships?

There is a huge outrage over this new ammendment to law which states that a woman who is in a live-in relationship with a man for a"considerable amount of time" will be given rights equivalent of a wife.

I am all for this change, its a huge step to make India more progressive and tolerant of evolving relationships of the Modern era.. Also it will have the following effect.

Men who think of Live in as "time pass" can think again.. why?

" no strings attached" will no longer be applicable to live-in
It will deter those men who get into livein with their girlfriends without intending to marry thereby upholding the "sanctity of marriage" because if their girlfriends can take them to court for suddenly "ditching them after say 2 years" they can and will be eligible to get compensation.
It will make the youth more careful about getting into a "convenient" live-in.
It will ensure that those couples who intend to spend rest of their lives together will marry instead of trying out a "live-in".

I know there will be a lot of opposition to this rule as will the rule which I think should be passed next- Gay Marriages and Gay rights!

This is the way forward. Legalize it and it's easier for everyone!

But as usual the BJP or the VHP or the Bajrang dal or even Shiv Sena will oppose it as "anti hinduism", when the leaders of such parties themselves keep mistresses .

Maybe they have a reason to oppose if their mistresses ever decide to take them to task eh?

Over all dont oppose the future.. embrace the changes because its inevitable!

We see this "jaagore" ad on TV and I must say the Ad is good.

It made me want to register online- but its not really registering online. I fill a form online which then I have to download and submit to my Eloctoral office.

To be Honest I am a lazy Techno Freak and I would Love to see the day when based on my PAN card or Passport details I can register online and then have the Card snail mailed to my address.

Okay thats me being super lazy because the place where I have to go and submit is approx 50 mins drive.

Who do I vote for? I mean All the candidates are crooks .

I mean its all show no work. They Lie to get votes and fill their pockets!

Murder ..she wrote?

If you all have been following the news on INDIATV yesterday , we have a young ,pretty woman Journalist who was murdered in Delhi.

The amazing part was the 'reconstruction' which they showed as the reporter for INDIATV tried to examine the murder mystery. They had a woman in the drivers seat and a man behind trying to pull her hair ( there was this mysterious strands of hair on the back seat of the vehicle in which she was murdered) and the woman was screaming ( to be honest looked like she was doing a fake orgasm which was totally fake).

It was totally cheesy and not the best journalism ever!

I mean they kept trying to confuse the viewer by " there were 2 bullets fired" and then go on to show " three bullet fired 1 on the victim, one on the car tyre and one on the front number plate".

Over all even worse how was she killed? from a man inside the car or from outside and how did the driver seat window shatter?

Well if they were investigators the question here is.. was there shards of glass embedded on her face and skin? if yes then the bullet was fired through the glass.!!!!!

anyway over her murder is a sad reflection on Delhi's so called finest(cops and journalists) and I for once never feel safe in Delhi.

I mean if I got out at 9 PM to get something from a market , there has to be some weird bloke who wants to stop and ask if I need to be "dropped" somewhere!

Yeah right ! i completely know that Men alone in car's offering women off the street a lift is more like asking " how much for an hour?".

Delhi is unsafe!

What is the porpose of Blogging?

To satisfy the urge to write
To have a place to write your views, thoughts, ideas
To have people read them and comment or critic it.

Point number 3 is definitely missing. I am a blogger on another site www.blog.co.in and it has a community there who read your blog and comment/critic it and it feels great.

Any writer will eventually want someone to read their work and be given a feedback.

This feedback and community is missing here!

It's so common to hear about bomb blasts in India now on news that some of us actually switch channels and watch re-runs of FRIENDS or our favourite Desi Soaps!

I for one hate watching News because its so deadful and full of blood and violence and rapes.

In Delhi for instance a Rape happens almost every day and when we read about it , its like " oh no not one more".

I was in Delhi , Noida to be precise, living in Sector 29 which happens to be a Posh area and an Army one too.. I was returning from work on night at 3 AM and ( yes Yes BPO) saw a Police car and a reporter with a Cameraman on the road near Sector 30.

We were all sitting in the cab and craning our neck to see what the deal was and saw a huge puddle of blood next to a ford!

WOW , said I, seems like someone got hit.. and another answers.. oh one more less in the 2 billion polulation of India and that was the end of it.

My parents called me the next day worried since there was a murder near my area and thats when I was told that there were infact 2 murders same night and reason for killing? 2 guys on a bike tried to hijack the car being driven by victim and since they put up a fight they were shot!

The Police is most ineffecient in the world!

Arushi Murder? Apparently no one killed her! even the Evidence submitted by our trusted CBI is not to be trusted! So Who slit her throat? err Guess Who? is the name of the game.

So basically our Intelligence system and law is the most ineffecient and corrupt in the world.

No wonder we are an easy target to attack.

I dont hear RAW spies in Karachi blew up a multiplex now do I?

Except the odd case of the Islamabad blast( Le Meridian I think) I dont hear about blasts being planned there for their Independence day.

I dont hear India forcefully conqured Pakistani land and gifted some to China!

Why is it that our own Country men are our worst Enemy?

Hindu's in Pakistant( if there are any) dont plan bomb blast in their Mosques or public places however those caught ( if they are actually to blame) are muslims born and bred in India and hell bent on destroying India.

What I want to see in India

In the Future(near) I want to see the following changes

Good clean roads whith proper crossings and standards
Rahul Gahdhi as PM ;-)
A new clean political system. I favour the American way to only 2 parties and not multiple ones.
Enforce the constitution with no abiguity
Ensure crimininals are not part of the parties(V V V important)
Freedom of speech and expression actually enforced and not just on paper
CLEAN INDIA
Men not peeing on streets or people not defecating the roads etc
GREEN INDIA
More employment and less prejudice by employers on Degrees and more on skill
Peace(yeah yeah)
Women given an equal status socially, professionally and sexually.

India is the land of KamaSutra, Khajuraho and yet the modern times are more backward and prehistoric than the ancient India.

The Glory of Ancient India is misrepresented and misinterpreted by Politics and law makers for their own benefit.

The seeming contradictions of Indian attitudes towards sex can be best explained through the glorious history. India played a significant role in the history of sex, from writing the first literature that treated Sex as a science, to in modern times being the origin of the philosophical focus of new age groups' attitudes on sex.

There is a flourishing black market trade in India and specifically in Delhi for sex toys and Pornography.

Yet we turn a blind eye to the changing culture and refuse to change our anicent laws and be liberal but with proper laws.

Make Sex toy industry legal , make prostitution legal this way we can control HIV /AIDS and ensure we are legally operating and ensure like in all Business there are standards to be maintained and certain rules to be met for operating.

Ever wondered why Amsterdam legalised prostitution? makes life easier and ofcourse no string operations there to catch our politicians indulge in clandestine sex with dancers or prostitutes!

The Grand Indian thinking of "swept under rug" and " turn blind eye" is not going to be enough anymore.

We are in year 2008 and thats like a few years less than the year shown in Terminator as end of world and cyborg age!!!!!!!!!

What I mean to say is we need to change our leaders .

We need to be tolerant about everything ( like we so call profess) and allow people to make their own decisions of what is right and wrong for us and not have a government dictate what we do with our personal lives!
